Saint Giong Temple-Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of humanity, more than 1,000 years
Phu Dong Temple (Giong Temple worshiping Saint Giong – Phu Dong Thien Vuong), about 21 km from the center of Hanoi City. This is a spiritual tourist destination associated with the legend of Saint Giong passed down through generations of Vietnamese people.

Giam’s house inside the Temple has a U-shaped floor plan, including the main palace and two rows of houses on both sides. The main palace consists of 5 rooms, 2 chairs, a tiled roof, 6 sets of wooden rafters structured in the style of an upper gong stand, a lower seat, seven porches, resting on 6 rows of pillars.
On the 7th – 9th day of the 4th lunar month every year, the Giong Festival of Phu Dong temple will take place at Giong Temple, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to worship.
Giong Festival is preserved and passed down basically intact by the people of Phu Dong village from generation to generation. Giong Festival at Phu Dong Temple is a folk theater, taking place in a large space with thousands of main actors being the people to educate the nation’s traditions of patriotism, national pride, and love of peace. Vietnam.
With its uniqueness and great values, in 2010, the Giong Festival was registered by UNESCO as a “Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”.
