Statue of Guan Yin Bodhisattva – A sacred place in Hue
This is a place that attracts thousands of Buddhists from all over the world to burn incense and worship and has become a famous sacred place in Hue. Quan Am monument was built on Tu Tuong mountain, Thuy Bang commune, Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue province. There are 145 steps leading up to the monument. From the top of the mountain we can teach 4 mountains like the picture of 4 elephants together, that’s why the mountain is named Tu Tuong. Quan Am Buddha station is located at the top of the head of one of the four elephants. The statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara was built in 1969, restored in 1999. The statue is 14m high, 7m high and weighs 24.6 tons of cement. When it was first built, the mountain was still desolate and almost bare, with only shrubs, no water, the road up was slippery and rocky, and the surroundings were deserted. Today’s landscape has been greatly embellished, the mountain is no longer bare but covered with the green color of the pine forest.

Tượng Quan Thế Âm Bồ Tát, Chùa Phật Đứng

Every year more and more tourists visit and worship, Quan Am Phat Dai has become a famous sacred place in the ancient capital. On the occasion of the full moon, the first day of the lunar calendar, in the presence of Avalokitesvara, holidays, Tet or weekends, people from all over the country and outside the province flock to pray for blessings and good fortune.
Many people also hold a bottle of spring water in their hands and throw incense and whisper to pray for the bodhisattva to give “nectar” water to eliminate suffering and disease.
Called Hue Standing Buddha Statue because on the winding road to Thuy Bang commune, one can easily see in the middle of Tu Tuong mountain a very tall statue of Avalokitesvara, standing in the middle of mountains and forests, blue sky and clouds with a gentle face. virtue. Known for its history, the statue was built in 1968, when the war for independence and reunification took place fiercely, Tu Tuong mountain was also the place where big battles often happened. But according to the people here, there is often a sacred story “Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva announces a dream”, helping the soldiers and people here to be at peace. Thanks to that, Thua Thien Buddhists, Buddhist leaders of Thua Thien Hue have built a statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara on the mountain of Four Statues. Since then, people have regularly visited and smoked incense for the statue of Avalokitesvara.
From the rough stone steps, it has now been made more beautiful and spacious, along with newly opened roads that are convenient for cars to carry tourists to visit. However, according to the perception of many people who have gone and of Buddhists and people who have visited, every time they finish paying their respects and look up, they will always see the gentle statue of Quan The Am looking down, holding an orange vase in the left hand. giant, right hand pressed nectar, whole body wearing white robes with soft waves, sitting on a lotus as if contemplating, listening to all the sounds of the world with the virtue of compassion and compassion, saving suffering.
When paying respects, Buddhists and visitors can buy water and incense for the ceremony. Water to ask for health, drink in the quintessence of heaven and earth, incense to visit when praying.
Although I have admired the statue of Quan The Am Buddha in many places, the gentle face in the deep green mountains of the pine forest in Hue really makes a deep impression on compassion, saving suffering and saving them.
If you have ever visited the ancient capital, do not waste your time, but visit Hue Standing Buddha Statue to feel your peace of mind amidst the chaos of life.
