Stepping through dozens of green stone steps, before entering the temple yard is a bell tower with 2 floors and 8 roofs. The second floor hangs a large bronze bell, next to it is a bronze drum and a large Khanh.
According to documents, Phat Tich pagoda in Bac Ninh was built by King Ly Thanh Tong in the 4th year of Long Thuy Thai Binh (1057) with the original name Thien Phuc Tu. In 1066, King Ly Thanh Tong built another high tower. After the event that the tower fell to reveal the statue of Amitabha with a monolithic green stone inlaid with gold, the temple was renamed Phat Tich and moved up the mountainside to recognize this strange appearance.
Phat Tich Pagoda now has 7 front halls to welcome visitors from all over the country. In particular, the place most tourists visit are the 5 main shrines that worship Buddha and Saint Amitabha. The ancestral church and the holy mother church are also extremely sacred and are visited by many Buddhists to pray for peace.
In the temple, the most prominent is the green stone statue of Amitabha Buddha, meditating on a lotus. The sacred statue is exquisitely carved. Both the body and the lotus-shaped pedestal have a total height of 4.7m, of which the stone lotus pedestal is 1.7 meters long, 0.8 meters wide and 0.36 meters high.
The images of dragons playing with each other hidden in the clouds are meticulously carved, showing the feats of skilled craftsmen.
This Buddha statue is a unique sculpture of Vietnamese fine art in general and statue sculpting in particular. This is a unique highlight that everyone remembers when talking about Phat Tich Pagoda.
A special feature of Phat Tich Pagoda is the 27m high Amitabha statue, weighing 3,000 tons located on the top of Phat Tich mountain, which was started construction in February 2007. The statue is made according to the prototype of Amitabha Buddha. inside the pagoda on the special occasion of the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi, which has attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to the exhibition. This is one of the largest stone statues in Southeast Asia and the first in Vietnam.

At Phat Tich Pagoda in Bac Ninh, there is also a very high tower. It is called Pho Quang Tower. The tower is 5.10 m high with very typical colors and materials from the long history of the Ly Dynasty.
Outside the campus of Phat Tich Pagoda, you can see a row of 10 large stone animals kneeling in front of the temple door. These are the largest and oldest animal carving works in our country today, recognized as a National Treasure of Vietnam in 2017.
A set of 10 sacred animals including 5 pairs of horses, rhinos, buffaloes, elephants and lions are arranged symmetrically in front of the corridor of the Three Jewels Court. These are original, unique artifacts, made of monolithic sandstone (except buffalo). Particularly, the ears, horns, and tail are made separate and assembled into the body of the beast by mortise linkage. The bodies of some animals are carved with clouds and soft links.
